GSM SMART METER INSTALLATION AND FAULT FINDING NOTES
-

These notes are not intended to be a complete installation guide, but are notes to assist personnel suitably qualified to carry out electrical installation work.

Firstly, remember that it is the responsibility of the installer to make the installation work properly, which in the case of a GSM Smart Meter includes proving that remote communications are possible.

Secondly, always take careful note of the meter serial number (usually printed on the front of the meter adjacent to a bar code) and the meter security code (usually hand written on a sticker on the meter). If there is no security code, also take note of the long number on the SIM card fitted to the meter. This information along with the address where the meter is fitted allows the meter to be registered for remote reading.

When carrying out an installation or investigating a problem, in order to ensure success in one visit, please make sure you have as many of the following items as is practical...

Spare Activated SIM cards from MeterOnline
A mobile phone and login details for MeterOnline/Meteronmobile.com for on site sim swaps and testing
